about

Trapper Schoepp presents a modern reimagining of the ancient folk tune, "Dink's Song," which was first heard sung in 1909 by an African American woman named Dink, as she washed her husband's clothes in a tent camp near Houston, TX. The song traveled north in the 1960s and became a staple of the Greenwich Village folk scene being sung by the likes of Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan, the latter Schoepp shares co-writing credits with for the song "On, Wisconsin." With soaring violin, gentle mandolin and brother harmonies, this new take on an old classic is found on this 7" vinyl along with a reimagining of "Ballad of Olof Johnson" as the b-side.
